Automatic patch notification

GMG OpenColor regularly checks for service updates in the background. If there is a new service update available, you will be automatically notified with a popup.

You can then install the update either immediately or at a later time directly from the application. Alternatively, you can still download and install new versions manually by using our download area.

If you do not want to be automatically informed about new service updates in GMG OpenColor, you can disable this feature in the settings.

If a new service update is available for GMG OpenColor, you will be notified with a popup.

  1. Make sure that all background tasks are completed before you continue.
    You can check this in the main menu at the top right by looking at the Tasks icon Image of the Tasks icon. The icon then shows a 0 and the progress border is empty.

  2. Click the button Install.
  3. Please follow the instructions on the screen. You will be guided through the installation step by step.

During the installation, all running profile calculations will be canceled and GMG OpenColor will be restarted. Do not click Install until all background tasks have been completed to prevent loss of information.

If you want to update GMG OpenColor later, please proceed as follows:

  1. Click the button Not now.
    The popup closes.
  2. After 24 hours, you will receive another patch notification and can decide again whether you want to update GMG OpenColor.

You can postpone the update as often as you like by clicking the Not now button. If you do not want to be reminded of this update anymore, tick the Do not show again checkbox additionally. You will then only receive a notification again when another service update is available for GMG OpenColor.

In both cases, you can always access the update dialog manually from the main menu via Options (gear icon) > Search for Updates.

We recommend you to not turn off the automatic patch notification. You will only benefit from all new features and stability improvements with an up-to-date system. If you still want to disable the feature completely, you can do so as follows:

  1. From the main menu, choose Options (gear icon) > Preferences....
    A dialog opens.
  2. Remove the check mark under Preferences > General Settings > Check for Updates.
  3. Click the button Save to apply the changes.

You will no longer receive automatic patch notifications.

Please note that this function is currently available for new service updates (patches) only, but not for new full versions. New full versions must always be downloaded and installed manually.
