Profiling Expert Workshop – Online

You have already tried a few things, but have not yet reached your goal or generally want to know what other undiscovered possibilities exist in the area of profile creation? Then this workshop is exactly the right one for you.

In this online workshop, our profiling experts will use practical examples and tasks to show you how to master even challenging printing conditions and create and optimize profiles for both proofing and separation. We primarily use GMG OpenColor, but we will also discuss other profiling tools, such as Profile Editor, if required.

Day 1 – Requirements and fingerprint

• Evaluation of the profiling task. Relevant parameters and special features
• What elements on a test chart can help with profiling? (e.g., For the assessment of min dot, gray balance, etc.)
• Prerequisites for color management: print consistency and process control
• Processing and optimization of the measurement data? Tips and tricks?
   

Day 2 – Proof profiles

• Proofprofile – Backgrounds and parameters
• Customization and optimization of the profile
• Specific properties such as noise and mottling
• Optional: Prototype Proof Profile or Substrate Structure Simulation and DotProof

Day 3 – Separation Profiles

• Separation – Backgrounds and parameters – Focus on classic separation tasks such as GCR / UCR but also specific ones such as reduced channel count and multicolor
• Customization and optimization
• Color Conversion Best practice

Day 4 – SmartProfiler and profiling deep dive

• Profiling for digital printing with GMG SmartProfiler
• Customization and optimization of profiles
• Color Science Deep Dive – Color measurement and assessment (e.g., SCTV, special substrates such as corrugated board, metallic, etc.)
• Bring your own topics and projects: Proof and separation files are developed directly on concrete examples in the workshop.
